Newborn baby essentials list

You have nine months to collect all those sweet little things for your baby. With this baby essentials list, you can be sure to have everything you need when your baby is born.

Before childbirth

• 1 maternity kit

Care 

• 6 face cloths
• 6 hydrophilic washcloths
• 6 hydrophilic diapers
• 1 changing pad
• 2 changing pad covers
• 1 baby bath (with stand) or Tummy Tub (with stand)
• 1 bath thermometer
• 1 diaper pail
• 2 bath capes
• 1 pack of newborn disposable diapers
• 1 thermometer
• Care products (baby ointment, baby soap, baby oil, or baby lotion)
• 1 soft hairbrush
• 1 nail scissors with rounded tips (use them after 6 weeks)

Sleep

• 1 crib, mini crib, or bassinet  
• 1 mattress
• 1 mattress protector
• 3 fitted crib sheets
• 3 molton diapers
• 3 top sheets
• 2 wool or cotton blankets or 1 duo blanket
• 2 sleeping bags
• 1 baby monitor

For the baby

• 4-8 onesies
• 4-8 one-piece pajamas
• 3 sets of clothes
• 2 hats
• 4-7 socks
• No-scratch mittens 
• 1-3 sweaters or jackets

Breastfeeding

• 3 nursing bras
• Suction pads
• Feeding pillow

Bottle feeding
