Pregnancy Week 34
Your baby is now 17.72 inches long and weighs about 4.73 pounds. Baby is now starting the final growth spurt. Your baby’s eyes now function very well and they can distinguish between light and dark.
To do!
Have you picked out or designed a birth announcement card yet? If you haven’t, it’s a good time to do it. Writing the names and addresses on the envelopes is a perfect job to do while you are on leave. It saves you a task once baby has arrived.
Leave!
Maternity leave is not a luxury, it is a must and you are entitled to it. Some women work through to the 36th week, but do keep in mind that work will get a lot heavier, literally and figuratively. By taking your leave now, you can prepare for the delivery. Do the last things you want to do: buy the last items for baby, finish off the nursery and start washing all those cute baby clothes. And of course, curl up on the couch with a book and cup of tea and get some rest. And if you still have energy left, you could go shopping or out to dinner with your partner or to the movies.
These are great weeks to be on leave! You are still entitled to leave after the birth, but that time is all about baby. So, enjoy this bit of you time.
